You can find us in the 4th Ward of Mudukanakatte, specifically at house number 1507/1. This is in the Kudligi area of Bellary. It’s a hot part of the state, and keeping livestock can be a real challenge when the grass turns brown in the summer. That’s why we started this fodder company. We are all farmers who have some cows or buffaloes back home. We know how much it costs to buy feed when you're short on grass. We started growing more fodder and processing it so it stays good for longer. It’s very practical work. We spend a lot of time in the fields and then at the shed where we handle the fodder. It’s a producer company, so it’s owned by us farmers. There’s no big boss in a city somewhere making decisions. We just meet up in Mudukanakatte and decide what we need to do next. Sometimes we talk about getting better seeds for the grass or how to store the hay so it doesn't rot. It’s not glamorous. We are usually covered in bits of straw and dust. But it’s important work because the animals are our livelihood. We’ve lived in Bellary our whole lives and we know how to handle the heat. We just take it one day at a time and try to help each other out. That is all there is to it.
