Dhanrathna India Nidhi is based in the AKK Building, specifically in room PP 349/06. It’s a simple space, nothing too big or flashy. We focus on the Nidhi side of things, which basically means we help folks with their savings and small loans right here in the local community. The building itself is a standard one, and our office is just one part of it. When you walk in, you’ll see a few desks where we handle the daily transactions. We don’t have fancy decorations or expensive rugs. It’s just a place to get work done. We spend most of our day looking at ledgers and talking to the people who come in to deposit their money or check their accounts. It’s a lot of manual work, checking names and numbers over and over to make sure there are no mistakes. The room can get a little bit stuffed with all the files we have to keep, but it’s organized in our own way. We usually have a bit of tea in the afternoons while we finish up the day’s paperwork. The people who visit us are mostly working-class locals who want a simple place to keep their money. We don’t use a lot of complicated words when we talk to them. It’s just straightforward talk about their savings and how things are going. We just try to be helpful and keep the records as clear as possible.
