Sri Nagendra Rice Traders

Our place, Sri Nagendra Rice Traders, is at 463, Vd Puram in the Bhavanipuram area of Vijayawada. It’s a pretty active part of town, and we’re right in the middle of it. We spend most of our time dealing with rice bags, loading and unloading them from the trucks that come in from the rural areas. It’s a lot of physical work, and my back definitely feels it by the end of the week. We don’t have a fancy office or any corporate managers. It’s just us and the rice. We try to keep a variety of grades in stock because everyone has different preferences for their daily meals. Some people want the expensive stuff for special occasions, and others just need something affordable for every day. We treat everyone the same. The shop gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock, but we manage to find a path through the sacks. Vijayawada can get really humid, which isn't great for storing grain, so we have to be careful about how we stack things. We don't really do much online or with social media. Most of our business comes from word of mouth or people just walking by in Bhavanipuram. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy to keep the business going year after year without too much drama. The bags are heavy and the days are long, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we weren't here in Bhavanipuram.
