Sid Academy

Sid Academy is my small project here in Vijayawada. We are situated in the 520002 zip code area. It’s not a massive school or anything like that. It’s just a few rooms where we gather to study and learn. I started this because I felt there was a need for a place that didn't feel so rigid. We keep things relaxed but we do the work. The building is a bit old, but it’s sturdy and keeps the sun out. We have a lot of books piled up in the corners. I think a learning space should feel lived in. Every morning, I open up the shutters and get things ready for the day. Students come in at different times depending on their college schedules. We talk about the subjects, solve problems on the board, and sometimes just talk about life. It’s a simple life. We don't have a lot of rules, just that you have to show up and try. Vijayawada is a fast-paced city, but inside Sid Academy, we try to slow down a bit so we can actually understand things. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us because their cousins or friends came here before. It’s just a local academy doing its thing every day. I like being here and seeing the students make a little progress each week. It takes time but we get there.
