Salomi Italy Ceramic

P. Venkareswarlu started this place after he finished serving in the military. Now we are based in Hastinapuram, out in the Jandrapet area of Chirala. We handle a lot of ceramics, mostly tiles and things people need for their bathrooms or kitchens. The shop is not huge, but we keep a good stock of what people usually ask for. Being an ex-serviceman, the owner likes things done in an orderly way, though the warehouse can get a bit dusty with all the crates coming in. We see a lot of local families coming in looking to fix up their houses. We show them what we have in the back and talk about what might work for their floors. It is a local business through and through. We do not have a big marketing team or anything fancy. We just open up in the morning and see who comes by. Sometimes the deliveries from the bigger factories take a while to reach us here in Prakasam district, but we let customers know how it is. We try to be fair with the prices because everyone knows everyone around here. It is a lot of lifting and moving heavy boxes, so we stay busy. The roads around Jandrapet can get a bit muddy when the monsoon hits, but that does not stop us from getting the tiles out. We spend a lot of time talking to the local contractors who are building the new houses in Chirala. It is good to see the area growing.
