Ramaraju Rice Co.

Ramaraju Rice Co. is tucked into Dominos Plaza over in Krishna Nagar. Being at 6-5-341 means we see a lot of people coming and going, especially those heading to get food next door. Our space is a bit cramped because we have to fit so much stock into a small area. We have bags of rice piled almost to the ceiling in some spots. You have to be careful when walking around so you don't trip over a stray sack. There is a small counter near the front where we handle the cash and talk to customers. Usually, there is a half-eaten snack or a cold cup of tea sitting there next to the calculator. It gets a bit busy in the evenings when people are heading home and decide to stop in. The plaza can be a noisy place with all the cars and motorbikes, but inside it feels a bit more quiet until we start moving the heavy stuff around. We use a small trolley to get the heavier loads out to the curb. The wheels on the trolley squeak quite a bit, but it still works well enough for us. Sometimes we sit on the stacks of rice and just watch the rain through the open door when the weather turns. It’s a plain shop, nothing special to look at, but it’s where we are every day from morning until the sun goes down. We just keep our heads down and get the bags ready for the next person.
