We are located in One Town, right near the old Post Office, which is a landmark everyone in this part of the city knows. This area is very old and the streets are narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze when the delivery carts come through. The building itself has been around for ages and has that old-fashioned feel to it. Inside the company, things move at a steady pace. We deal with a lot of traditional trade, so there’s always ledger books and stacks of receipts on the main desk. The walls have some old paint peeling in the corners, but it doesn’t bother us much. We know all the neighbors, from the tea seller to the man who runs the stationery shop. It gets very loud outside with the shouting and the horns, but once you step inside, it feels a bit more settled. We don’t have many modern gadgets other than a computer and a printer that jams whenever we are in a hurry. The air smells like old paper and the dust from the street. Most of our day is spent talking to people who have been doing business with the family for years. It’s a very personal way of working, where a handshake still means something and we take the time to ask about people’s families before getting down to the actual numbers.
