American Oncology Institute

We are located at 6-222/2 in Chinakakani. This is where American Oncology Institute is based. It’s a hospital, so the atmosphere is usually pretty quiet and serious. We focus on cancer treatments here. The halls are long and we have a lot of rooms for the patients. It’s a big building, and it can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. Most of the staff are busy running between departments or checking on the equipment. We don't have much time for sitting around. The parking lot out front is almost always full by eight in the morning. We see a lot of families coming in and out every day. It’s not an easy place to work sometimes because of the nature of the illnesses we deal with. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the supplies are always ready. The air conditioning is always humming in the background to keep the machines cool. We spend most of our day under the fluorescent lights. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls. It’s a practical space designed for medical work. Sometimes we grab a quick bite in the small breakroom when we get a chance. It’s a steady pace of work and we stay focused on what needs to be done for the people who come through our doors.
