Lakshmi Srinivasa Food Products

Our small workshop is at 3-965 on Narayanamma Street in B.V Nagar over in Muthyala Peta. We make various food items here and the air usually smells like whatever we are cooking or roasting that day. It is not a big factory just a couple of rooms where we do all the preparation and packing by hand. My relatives and a few neighbors help out with the work. We use simple equipment and do things the old way because that’s how we learned. The packaging is just plain bags with a basic label we put on ourselves. Sometimes the delivery van gets stuck in the narrow street because it's so crowded around here. We have to carry the boxes out to the main road ourselves when that happens. It’s a lot of hard work and our hands are always busy with something. We sell mostly to the small grocery stores in the surrounding neighborhoods. People seem to like what we make because it tastes like home cooking and not like something from a big company. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just focus on making enough every day to fill the orders we have. The kitchen gets really hot in the summer but we just keep the windows open and get on with it. It’s just how we make our living here in Muthyala Peta.
