Jagdish Traders

Jagdish Traders has been on Gulabchand Street for many years. We still use P.O. Box No 85 for a lot of our official mail, which is how things used to be done around here before everyone went digital. The street is narrow and always full of delivery carts and people walking to the different shops. Our place is just a regular trading post. We have shelves filled with different items and old ledgers where we keep track of everything by hand. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it’s how we like to run things and it works for us. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here and they come by. Often, our regulars will stop in just to say hello or have a cup of tea while we talk about the day. The building itself is quite old, with high ceilings and some cracks in the plaster that we never really got around to fixing. It stays surprisingly cool inside during the summer, though. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and sweeping the front step. Then it's just a matter of who comes through the door and what they are looking for. We handle various goods depending on what’s in demand at the time. It’s a quiet kind of life, even with the constant noise of Gulabchand Street right outside our front door. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we stay the same.
