Surya Engineering Works

Our workshop is over at Plot No. D4 5 in the Industrial Estate here in Vijayawada. The Andhra heat can be pretty brutal in the middle of the day, so we try to get our most physical work done in the early morning hours. We deal with various engineering projects, mostly involving heavy machinery and structural parts. The shop floor is a mix of old-school manual tools and some newer gear we’ve picked up over the years. It’s a loud place, with the sound of hammers and drills echoing off the tin roof. We’ve got a small team of local guys who really know their trade. There’s no fancy air conditioning in the main area, just some big industrial fans that mostly just move the hot air around. We keep a cooler full of water near the entrance, which is probably the most popular spot in the building. Our office is just a small corner blocked off by some plywood where we handle the accounts and the customer visits. Most people who come by are local contractors or plant managers who need something fabricated quickly. We don't spend much on fancy furniture; we’d rather put that money back into the machines. It’s a straightforward operation where we focus on finishing the day's work and making sure the orders are ready for pickup. There’s always something that needs fixing or building, and we just keep the wheels turning.
