Dasarath Motors

If you head down Chuttugunta, near Chntanyya College Road, you’ll find us working away. Dasarath Motors has been a fixture on this street for a while now. We deal with engines, oil changes, and that smell of petrol that never really leaves your clothes. Vijayawada gets really hot in the summer, so our shop floor can feel like an oven by midday. We just keep the fans going and stay hydrated. There’s always a line of bikes or cars waiting for something to be tightened or replaced. I started out working for someone else, but eventually, I just wanted my own place where I could do things my way. It’s not a shiny showroom like the ones you see in the city center. We have grease on the floor and tools scattered on the benches, but we know where everything is. The college kids walk past all day, and sometimes they stop in if their scooters are acting up. We’ve got a couple of guys who are really good with their hands and don't mind getting dirty. My office is just a tiny corner with a computer that’s a bit slow. We don't spend much time sitting down anyway. Usually, we are under a hood or checking a tire. It’s loud and messy, but it’s what we do here in Vijayawada. It’s a living, and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening most days.
