Creative Music School

Walking into our music school in Vijayawada, the first thing you notice is usually the sound of someone practicing a scale or a song. It’s never really silent here. We’re located in the 520001 zip code area, which is a fairly central part of the city. The rooms are a bit small, tucked away to keep the noise from bleeding into each other too much, but you still hear the drums or a keyboard through the walls. We have a few old instruments sitting in the corners and some music stands that have seen better days. People come in after their regular school or work ends, so the evenings are our busiest time. The humidity in Vijayawada can be tough on the wooden instruments, so we have to keep an eye on things. It’s not a fancy conservatory or anything like that. It’s just a place where folks come to learn how to play a few tunes or get better at what they already know. We spend a lot of time tuning guitars and helping students get their fingerings right. There’s a small waiting area for parents, usually filled with people scrolling on their phones while they wait for the hour to finish. It’s a bit messy with sheet paper and cables lying around sometimes, but it feels like a place where things are actually happening. We just like music and want to help others play it too without any extra pressure.
