Amma Nursing Home

Amma Nursing Home is tucked away in Patamata, Vijayawada, in the 520010 neighborhood. It’s a local spot that’s been part of the community for quite some time. We aren't one of those massive hospitals with hundreds of beds and glass elevators. It’s a smaller building, and it feels more like a house in some ways. The hallways are a bit narrow, and the paint is peeling a little in the corners, but it’s clean and it’s where we work every day. People from around Patamata walk here because it’s close to their homes. I see the same faces often, and we usually know the families by name. There isn't a PR person here to write fancy articles about us. We just have the nurses and the help who show up and get to work. The front desk is usually cluttered with registers and a landline phone that rings quite a lot. We don’t have an automated system; someone actually picks up the phone when it rings. In the evenings, it gets a bit quieter, and you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood outside. It’s just a normal place for normal people. We don't promise anything other than being here when the lights are on. It’s been this way for years, and I don’t see it changing much. We just keep going, day in and day out, helping whoever walks through that front door looking for care.
