We are located in Bijapur, specifically at 217-452, which is quite close to the Mangamma Temple. You can usually hear the temple bells from our doorway in the mornings. Being in the rice business means there is always a lot of heavy lifting. We have bags of different varieties stacked up high. The air inside always smells a bit like grain and jute bags. It’s a smell I’ve grown used to over the years. We deal with farmers and wholesalers mostly. It’s a lot of haggling and checking the quality of the grains. We don't use any fancy machinery for sorting, just the old ways that work well enough. The floor is covered in a fine layer of dust no matter how much we sweep it. That’s just the nature of rice. My grandfather was the one who started this company near the temple. He liked the location because it was easy for people to find. We haven't moved since then. Sometimes the rain makes the road outside a bit muddy, but the trucks still manage to get through. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We just want to provide rice to the people who come to us. We know our regulars well. We have a small bench outside where people sit and wait for their orders to be loaded. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
