We are located at Home No.156 in Ainapur. It's a small place in the Bijapur Taluk area. Panchamruta Sheep And Goat Farmer Producer Company Limited started because a group of us farmers who raise sheep and goats wanted a better way to work together. Instead of everyone doing their own thing, we formed this company. It's easier to handle the business side when we're a group. Vijayapura is our main area. The house we work out of is pretty simple. Most of the time we are out in the fields or checking on the livestock. Dealing with goats and sheep isn't always easy, especially with the weather changes here in Karnataka. You have to be on top of things every day. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most people in the village know us already. We focus on the practical side of farming. There’s a lot of record-keeping involved now that we’re official, but we try to stay organized. It’s a community effort, really. Everyone puts in their bit. Sometimes things go slow, but we keep moving forward. If you come by Ainapur, just ask for the sheep and goat farmers' place. We’ve been here a long time and plan to stay. It's just honest work with the animals and the land. There is no point in trying to look bigger than we are. We just want to make sure the farmers are doing okay and the animals are looked after properly.
