Arogya Organics

You can find our place at 3-2-145 in Chalukya Nagar. We are quite close to the Bangaramma Sajan Campus in Vijayapura, so we see a lot of students and faculty members walking past throughout the day. The shop has a very specific smell, a mix of dried pulses and earth, which I have grown quite fond of. I built the wooden shelves myself a few years back. They aren't perfectly level, but they do the job of holding all the jars and packets. We try to source most of what we have from the nearby villages, though it can be a bit hit or miss depending on the season. Sometimes we run out of certain oils or grains, and I have to explain to customers that we are waiting on the next harvest. I keep a small wooden stool near the entrance so I can sit and talk to the neighbors when things are slow. It isn't a high-tech store by any means. We use an old calculator that has a sticky button, and I keep the cash in a small metal box. In the afternoons, the shop gets a bit dark, but I prefer the dim light to the harsh tubelights some other places use. It is a steady life, and we enjoy being part of this little community near the campus.
