Sona Pumps

Sona Pumps is located out in Kukarwada, specifically at the Ubkhal GIDC area. We take up units 36 through 43. It’s a pretty large stretch, but we need the space for the metal and the assembly work. Being in a GIDC means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories, so there’s always the sound of hammers or machines in the background. We make pumps here. It’s heavy work and often quite greasy. You’ll see most of us in overalls most of the time because you can’t really stay clean in a place like this. The floor is concrete and usually has some spare parts lying around. We’ve been in Kukarwada for quite some time now, and we’ve gotten used to the way things work out here. Farmers often stop by because they need something for their wells or fields. We don’t have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just walk into the factory area. It’s hot in there during the summer months, but we’ve got some fans going to keep things moving. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on putting the pieces together and making sure the pumps actually work when they leave the gate. It’s a basic operation, run by people who know their way around a wrench. That’s just the daily life for us at the factory, and we like it that way.
