Stone Trading

Our shop is right at Nehru Chowk in Ganj Basoda. If you’ve ever been to the market area here, you know it gets very crowded and busy with all the shops and stalls. We go by the name Stone Trading, which is exactly what we do here. We buy and sell different kinds of stone for building and construction. It’s a basic business. We’ve been at Nehru Chowk for years now, and we’ve seen the area change a lot since we first opened our doors. The shop itself is small and packed with samples and stone scraps. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who walk in from the street. Ganj Basoda is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone, so we have to be honest about what we are selling to people. We don't have a website or any of that internet stuff. Most of our work comes from people just seeing us at the Chowk. It’s a lot of manual work, moving pieces of rock around so people can see the quality for themselves. We get a lot of dust in the shop because of the traffic and the stones, but we try our best to keep it decent. Some days are slow and we just sit outside and watch the people go by. Other days, we don't even have time to eat lunch because there are so many deliveries. It is just a normal, local business. We do our work and go home.
