Pooran Chand & Company

Our shop, Pooran Chand & Company, sits at 4125 on the Chintamani Malapalli Road in Kallahalli. It is an old-fashioned kind of place, and we like it that way. We have been around for quite some time, and the name on the sign is a family one. Kallahalli is a nice community and we feel like a part of the furniture here. We do not do anything too fancy. We just sell what we have and talk to the people who walk through the door. The road outside can get pretty loud with all the bikes and cars going towards Chintamani, but inside we just focus on our work. We handle various goods and supplies, and our shelves are usually pretty full. It is a bit cramped in here sometimes because we try to keep a lot of inventory on hand. We are not trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to be the place where local folks can find what they are looking for without a lot of fuss. Most of our days are spent counting stock, talking to regulars, and maybe fixing a shelf here and there. It is a simple way to run a business. We do not use much technology, mostly just pen and paper for most things. It has worked for us so far, so we just keep going. We open early and stay until the sun sets.
