Munneru Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our place is at 2/43A, Periyathottam, in the Kuppirikapalayam area. If you know P.Velur, we are just a bit away from there. This company is basically just a bunch of us farmers who decided to pool our resources. Farming in this part of the country has its ups and downs. One year the water is plenty, and the next we are struggling. We grow mostly what grows well in this soil around Periyathottam. It isn't a big corporate setup with suits. Most of the time, you'll find us in our lungis or work clothes, talking about the price of inputs or why the pests are getting worse this season. We have a small space where we gather to sort things out. It gets noisy when everyone has an opinion on which seeds to buy. Being part of this group helps us not get pushed around by the big buyers so much. It's a lot of physical work, every single day. Even when the sun is hitting hard, someone is out there checking the lines. We don't have a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow stuff and try to sell it. Some of the younger guys are helping us with the digital side of things now, but mostly it's just the same farming we've always done, just organized a bit better under this name. We just try to get through the month and hope for rain.
