Sakthi Maligai Store

Sakthi Maligai Store is located at 53, Palanisamy Road, right near the Tirupattur Bus Stand. Because we’re so close to where all the buses stop, it’s always loud and there’s always someone running in at the last minute to buy something before their bus leaves. We sell provisions—everything from rice and flour to spices and tea leaves. It’s a very busy little shop. The space is small, so we have to stack the bags of grain pretty high. I’m always worried someone might knock something over, but so far, we’ve been lucky. My family helps me out here. We take turns sitting at the counter and helping people find what they need. Sometimes the crowd from the bus stand is a bit much, and the shop feels tiny, but we like the energy. We don’t have fancy displays; everything is just in jars or bags where you can see it. We get fresh supplies every morning, so the place often smells like toasted spices or new burlap bags. It’s hard work, and we’re on our feet most of the day. But being near the bus stand means we meet people from all over, not just the locals from Palanisamy Road. We just try to be helpful and get people what they need quickly so they don’t miss their ride. It's been our family business for a while now and we're used to the noise from the street.
