Out near Ambur Road, you'll see Keertica Coir Products situated at No. 45/11 - B. If you’ve ever driven past, you’ve probably seen the piles of fiber outside. Coir is messy work, and there’s no way around that. Our clothes are usually covered in brown dust by the end of the day. We’ve been at this location for a good while, making mats and brushes and whatever else people need from coconut husks. It’s heavy work sometimes, but it’s honest. The machines we use are old, but they still run fine if you treat them right. Ambur Road can get quite busy with trucks, so getting our shipments in and out is always a bit of a challenge. We don’t have a front office with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the gate goes to see who’s calling. We aren't trying to change the world, just making decent products that last. A lot of the people working here have been with us since the start. We know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We don’t do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. If you need something made from coir, you know where to find us. We’re here most days from early morning until the sun goes down. It’s just what we do and it keeps us busy enough.
