M.R.Rajan

I am located out in Jammnapudhur village, which is part of the Tirupattur area in Vellore. Being based in a small place like this means everybody knows where we are. It’s a quiet village and the post office is nearby, so mail gets here eventually even if the pin code 635652 is sometimes hard for outsiders to find. M.R.Rajan is basically just me and a few local guys who help out with the various tasks that come up. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. Usually, I’m working from a small room at my place or out on a site in the district. The work involves a lot of traveling between the different towns around here. I spend a lot of time on my motorbike going from one spot to another. It’s honest work, and we don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. We just take on the jobs that come our way and try to do them right so people don't complain. The pace of life is a bit slower here compared to the big cities, and that suits us fine. There is a lot of talk over tea about what needs to be done next. We don't have a big staff, so when something needs doing, we just go out and do it ourselves without waiting for meetings. It is a very simple way of running a business in the village and it works out okay.
