I’m writing from Abdul Wahab Street here in Melvisharam. We run Christmas Gift Box out of number seven. It’s mostly just us getting boxes ready for the season. Some days the place is a total mess with tape and cardboard everywhere. We started doing this because people around here needed a place to get their presents wrapped up right. It gets pretty loud when the tape dispensers are going all at once. The street outside is usually busy, so we spend a lot of time moving crates around to make room. We don't have a big fancy office or anything. It’s just a workspace with plenty of tables and some stools that have seen better days. Usually, someone is making tea in the back while the rest of us check the lids and the ribbons. It’s a lot of manual work. You get used to the smell of paper and glue after a while. We stay open pretty late when December gets close because that’s when everyone remembers they forgot to pack something. People just stop by and tell us what they need, and we try to find the right size box for them. Sometimes we run out of the red ones first, which is a bit of a headache. It’s just how things go. We’ve been at this spot for a bit now and most of the neighbors know us by the sound of the delivery trucks. We try to keep things simple and just get the work done.
