K P Traders

Our shop is located on Anbu Street in Gudiyattam, right at number 21. It is a narrow street and things can get pretty crowded when the delivery trucks try to squeeze through. We have been here for a while and we know most of the people who have shops on either side of us. In the mornings, we roll up the metal shutters and sweep the front area before the heat really kicks in. Gudiyattam can get very warm, so we have a couple of old ceiling fans that stay on all day long. They make a clicking sound that you eventually stop noticing. We don't have any big flashy signs, just the name K P Traders painted on the wall. Inside, it is mostly storage and a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone. It is a very local kind of business. People from the neighborhood stop by to chat or to see if we have certain things in stock. Sometimes we sit out on plastic chairs near the door when it’s quiet. There’s a guy who comes by with a cart selling snacks in the afternoon, and that’s usually when we take a break. It is not a complicated way to run things, and we don't try to make it look like something it isn't. We just handle the trades, talk to the customers, and close up when the sun goes down. It is a quiet life on Anbu Street.
