Our place is on Senji Ramasamy Street, right in the Bose Pet area of Gudiyattam. If you know Vellore, you know it gets pretty hot out here. Itd Cementation India Ltd has been operating out of this No. 30/12 building for some time. It is not a shiny glass office or anything like that. It is just a workspace with some desks and a lot of boots near the door. We spend most of our time looking at site plans and talking to the crew on the phone. The street outside can get a bit crowded with the local traffic. We handle a lot of the moving of supplies from here. You can usually find someone in the office from early morning until late evening because the work doesn't really stop. There is a lot of concrete dust around, which is part of the job I guess. We try to keep things simple. We have a small crew that looks after the paperwork and the gear. Sometimes the rain messes up our schedule, but we just wait it out and start again. People in Gudiyattam are used to seeing our trucks by now. It is just a normal day for us, fixing things and making sure the construction parts arrive on time. We aren't big on talk, we just like to get the work done and go home. It's a steady life here in Tamil Nadu.
