Gr Leathers

Gr Leathers is located on Kathiyavadi Road in Melvisharam. If you know this area, you know it is famous for leather work. We are right in the middle of it. The smell of the hides is the first thing you notice when you walk into our yard. It is a strong scent, but we have gotten used to it after all these years. We spend our time sorting through the skins and seeing which ones are good for different uses. It is a messy job. There is water on the floor and scraps of leather in the corners. We use big vats and machines that have been around for a long time. They are old but they still do the job just fine. Melvisharam is a place where people know their leather, so we have to be careful with what we produce. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we have, you just come to the back and look at the stacks. We talk to the truck drivers and the traders who come through every day. It is a simple business based on how things feel and look. We aren't trying to be a global fashion brand. We just process the leather and send it where it needs to go. It is hard work on your feet all day, but it is what we know.
