Fathima Store

If you’re ever near the Government Hospital in Melvisharam, you’ll likely see Fathima Store right across the way at 12/9. Being located right opposite a hospital means we see a lot of different people every single day. Some are in a hurry, others are just waiting around, and they all end up coming through our doors at some point. The store itself is quite small and can get a bit cramped when more than three or four people are inside at once. We’ve tried to organize things as best we can, but there’s always more stuff coming in than we have space for. The hum of the hospital across the street and the sound of ambulances are just part of the background noise for us now. We’ve been at this 12/9 address for quite some time, and the building has its share of cracks and stains. It’s a place where we work hard and don't spend much time worrying about how things look. We just want to make sure the items people need are available when they walk in. The summers in Melvisharam can be brutal, so we have a small cooler for drinks that everyone appreciates. It’s a basic setup, run by people who live nearby and understand the local area. We don’t have a website or any big ads, just our name on the board out front and a door that stays open most of the day.
