Dept of Radiology Christian Medical College

The Dept of Radiology at Christian Medical College is a very busy place to work. We are located right on CMC Ida Scudder Road in Vellore. If you’ve ever been to this part of Tamil Nadu, you know how crowded and hot it can get during the day. Our department is always full of people waiting for their scans or X-rays. I spend my days helping manage the flow of patients coming through the doors. It’s a big hospital, but we try to keep our section running as smoothly as possible. The building is old and has that specific hospital smell that you never really forget. We don’t use any fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just medical work, day in and day out. We see a lot of different people from all over the country. Vellore is a bit of a hub for that. The staff here are mostly local people or folks who have moved here specifically for the hospital. We don’t have time for much else besides the work. Ida Scudder Road is always packed with autos and people, so getting to work in the morning is a bit of a challenge. We just put on our white coats and get to it. There’s no big mission statement on the wall, just a bunch of people trying to get through the patient list before the end of the shift. It’s tiring but it’s what we do here. It's a job that never really stops because the patients keep coming.
