Cmc Hospital

People have been coming to Cmc Hospital here on Ida Scudder Road in Vellore for a long time now. It’s always a bit of a rush around the place, especially in the mornings when the sun starts getting hot and the streets outside get packed with rickshaws and people walking. We see all kinds of folks walking through the doors, some from just around the corner and others who traveled for days just to get here. The buildings are old and have seen a lot of years. Sometimes the queues get long, and you see families sitting together on the benches or out in the shade waiting for their names to be called. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. There is always the sound of carts being pushed and doctors talking in the hallways. Our spot on Ida Scudder Road is right in the middle of everything in Vellore. We just keep things moving as well as we can every day. Most of us have worked here for years and know the layout of the wards like the back of our hands. It gets tiring, especially during the busy season, but that is just how it is. We try to keep the floors clean even with so many feet walking over them. If you’ve been here, you know it’s a big maze sometimes, but somehow everyone finds where they need to go eventually. It’s just a part of life in this town.
