Christian Medical College & Hospital

Over at the Christian Medical College and the hospital attached to it, things are always on the move. It’s a large campus, and you’ll see students in their white coats rushing to class while patients and their relatives find their way to the different departments. It can be a bit overwhelming if you’re visiting for the first time. There are so many buildings and wings that it’s easy to get turned around. We’ve been part of this institution for a long time, and we’ve seen it grow from something much smaller. The hallways are filled with the smell of floor cleaner and the sound of many voices talking at once. We don't have those slick, modern lobbies you see in private city clinics. Our waiting rooms are practical, with rows of metal chairs and fans that never stop spinning. The staff works in shifts, so the place never really sleeps. Even in the middle of the night, there’s a light on somewhere and someone walking the corridors. We have a lot of history in these walls, with old photos and plaques from years ago still hanging up. It’s a place of learning just as much as it is a place for healing. We try to keep things organized, but with so many people coming through the doors every day, it’s a constant challenge. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure everyone gets seen eventually.
