Karthi Auto Works is down on Arcot Road in Vellore Bazaar. Specifically, we are at number 36 in the Kagithapatarai area. If you are looking for us, we are quite close to Vinayaka Stickers, which is a landmark most people in this part of Vellore know. Our workshop is right on the main Arcot Road, so it stays pretty busy with all the vehicles passing through. It is a noisy place, full of the sounds of tools and engines. We have been fixing things here for a good amount of time. The floor usually has some oil on it and there are parts scattered around on the workbenches. That’s just how an auto shop looks when there is actual work being done. We don't have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning; people usually just stand around or sit on a stool while we talk about their vehicles. The sun can get quite hot hitting the front of the shop in the afternoon. We just keep the doors open and get on with the repairs. It is a local spot where people from the bazaar and the surrounding neighborhoods bring their bikes or cars when something isn't running right. We don't use big machines for everything; a lot of it is just hands-on work with wrenches and screwdrivers. It is a simple, honest way to spend the day in Vellore. We’ve seen many cars come and go over the years.
