Ganesh Cotton Mills

We've been here in Thandra Village at Sy No 293 for a while now. It's mostly just us and the machines running through the day. The cotton gets everywhere, especially when it’s windy outside. You see the trucks coming in from the fields early in the morning, making a lot of noise on the dirt path leading up to the gate. Ganesh Cotton Mills is just what we do to get by. It’s a lot of work, keeping the ginning going from sunrise to sunset. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit around the yard and wait for it to come back on. Our neighbors in the village know the sound of the place by heart. It's not a fancy office with big glass windows. Just a big metal shed with a lot of dust and loud motors. People from around Thandra stop by to talk or share some tea when they aren't busy. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. The seasons dictate how busy we get. When it rains, everything slows down and we have to cover everything up quickly. We worry about the moisture in the bales because that ruins the whole batch. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or fiber by noon. We don't have a website or anything like that. Just the big gate and the sign out front that's a bit faded.
