K S Vijayan

This is the place where K S Vijayan works from, out in Paingottoor. It’s a bit of a drive from Muvattupuzha, tucked away in Ernakulam district. The house is called Kannasseril, and that's where everything happens. It’s quiet out here compared to the city. We have trees around and the air is much better. Not many people come out this way unless they really need to see us. We’ve lived here a long time. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls. It’s a home where business gets done in the front room. Sometimes the neighbors stop by for a chat while we are working. We use the local post office at Paingottoor for everything we send out. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a big staff or anything like that. Just some local help when things get busy. The road out here is okay, but it gets muddy during the monsoon. We’ve been part of this community for generations. People know K S Vijayan as a neighbor first. We handle our tasks one by one. There is no rush most days. We like it that way. It gives us time to do things properly without the pressure you find in Ernakulam town. It’s just us, doing what we do, right here in the village. We wake up, start our tasks, and finish when the sun goes down. It’s a very quiet way to live and work.
