National Centre For Antarctic & Ocean Research

We are based on the ground floor of Rebelo House, which sits up on Mangor Hills in Vasco-Da-Gama. It is a nice enough spot in Goa, away from the main tourist beaches. Our work revolves around ocean and Antarctic research, though our daily routine is mostly office-based here. You will find us at 310/1, usually surrounded by stacks of papers, maps, and research data. The office is not very big, but it is where all the logistics for our projects get sorted out. Being near the port is handy for what we do. The staff here are a mix of researchers and administrative people who just want to get the job done without much fuss. We do not have a big fancy entrance. Most days involve a lot of coordinating with teams who are far away or prepping for the next big study. The humidity in Goa can be a bit much sometimes, but the office stays relatively cool. We have been in this building for some time and it feels like home now. People often walk past on their way through the hills and do not realize the kind of work we are managing from this little ground-floor space. It is a quiet place to focus on the science and the logistics of the sea. We just go about our business and keep the research moving forward as best as we can. It is a steady way to work and we like it.
