M. K. Glass Works

M. K. Glass Works is out in Vasai East, specifically in the Sagar Industrial Estate. We are in Building No. 10 B, at Gala No. 11 and 12, over in Dhumal Nagar. It’s a real industrial area, so there are always trucks moving and the sound of machines coming from the units next door. Inside our space, we deal with a lot of glass sheets of all different sizes and thicknesses. You have to be very careful where you step and what you touch, so we usually have our heavy gloves on all day. The work involves a lot of cutting and moving heavy pieces, which keeps us pretty tired by the time evening rolls around. The gala is large enough to hold all our equipment, but it can get quite dusty from all the sanding and finishing work we do. We’ve been in this building for quite a bit now, and we know most of the other guys working in the estate. Sometimes the power fluctuates and we have to wait for the machines to reset, but that’s just part of being in an industrial zone like this one. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s where we do our work. We don't have a fancy storefront; people usually just come straight to the workshop door to talk to us about what they need. It’s a noisy, busy place where we handle glass every single day. We just try to get the orders done on time.
