Tribeca Copper Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Mitul Industrial Estate, which is way over in Vasai East. Specifically, we are at A/29 on Sativali Road near Village Valvi. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, especially near the Nicolas area. The estate is exactly what you’d expect from an industrial zone. It’s hot, there’s a lot of metal clanging around, and there’s always a faint smell of machine oil in the air. We deal with copper, so the warehouse is full of heavy rolls and scraps that take up a lot of space. It’s definitely not a place for shiny shoes or white shirts. We usually have the big shutter doors open to let some air in, but it doesn't help much in the summer. Most of the guys have been here a long time and we just get on with the job of processing the metal. There’s a small office space partitioned off with some old plywood where we keep the ledger and the phone. It’s nothing special to look at, but it’s where all the paperwork happens. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, which is just part of being in this area. We usually just wait it out and talk about whatever is happening in the village. It is a rugged way to work, but it suits the kind of stuff we do here every day.
