Down in Navghar, Vasai, you'll find Stick Tapes Pvt Ltd at the Shailesh Industrial Estate. We’re in Gala No. 12 of building number 7. It’s a typical industrial setup—nothing too pretty to look at, but it gets the job done. The air usually smells a bit like adhesive because of all the tape we handle. We’ve got rolls of all sizes stacked up against the walls. It can be a bit of a maze sometimes when we get a big shipment in. The machines that cut and wind the tape make a constant humming sound that you eventually stop noticing. We’re a local bunch here in Vasai. Most of us live nearby and walk or take a rickshaw to the estate. We don't have any polished sales pitches or fancy marketing materials. We just make tape and sell it. The floors are a little sticky in places, which I guess is expected in this line of work. We work through the humid days and keep the fans on high to stay cool. It’s a simple operation.
