It’s a bit of a trek to get out to our place. We are located about 41 kilometers away from the Mumbai airport, out in Sativali, Vasai East. Being in the Palghar area means we have a lot more space than we would in the city, which is good because the machines we build are quite large. Snowbell Machines has been here for a long time. The workshop is always noisy with the sounds of metal being cut and parts being fitted together. It’s a real factory environment, so there’s always a bit of grease and oil around. We don’t spend much time in the front office; most of us are usually out on the floor seeing how the assembly is going. The address can be a bit confusing for delivery drivers because it’s listed twice with the airport distance, but we usually just tell them to look for the Sativali landmarks. The summers out here in Vasai can get really hot, so the fans are always going full blast. We don’t have any polished corporate presentations. If you come visit, you’ll probably see us in our work clothes, probably busy with a wrench or a blueprint. We’re just a group of people who know how to put machines together. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially with the commute from Mumbai, but we just get on with it.
