You can find us at Gala No. 9 in the Harish Industrial Estate. We’re right opposite the Blu Chip Industrial Estate No. 1 in Golani. It’s a proper industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machines and people shouting over the noise. Our gala is usually full of whatever equipment we’re working on at the moment. It’s a bit cramped with all the tools and spare parts lying around, but we know where everything is. The floor is stained with oil and grease, which is pretty much expected in this line of work. We start early in the morning when it’s still a bit cool, because the industrial estate gets really dusty and hot by midday. We don't have an office staff, so we’re usually the ones answering the phone with dirty hands. It’s a lot of manual labor, taking things apart and putting them back together again. Sometimes a part takes longer to arrive than we thought, so we have stuff sitting around for a few days extra. We’ve been in this gala for years and know all the other shop owners nearby. We often borrow tools from each other or just stand out front for a quick break. It’s a hard-working environment and we just focus on getting the repairs done so the machines can get back to work. We just keep working until the shutters go down.
