Civil Engineer

Out here in Sagwara, life moves a bit slower, which I like. My office is at D 118 in Punarvas Colony. Rajasthan is beautiful but the heat in the summer is no joke. It makes the site work pretty tough between noon and four. I’ve lived in Dungarpur district for a long time. I know the rocks and the soil here. Most of my work involves helping local folks get their homes built properly. I don’t use any fancy software if I can help it; I still like my old-school methods and hand drawings. There’s something more real about it. The office is pretty basic. A few chairs, a big desk, and a lot of dust from the road. I don’t try to act like a big city professional. I’m just a guy who knows how to build things. Sometimes I have to travel quite a bit to get to a remote site. Those are the long days. I usually pack a lunch and a big bottle of water. People here are friendly. They know me as the engineer from Punarvas. I don’t promise miracles. I just give them my honest opinion on what will work and what won’t. It’s a decent way to make a living. You see the results of your work standing tall for years. That’s enough for me. No need for anything more than a solid plan and some hard work.
