Vedwani Publication

We are located at 286/A Ward in Phulewadi. It’s a local neighborhood and Vedwani Publication fits right in with the other small businesses around here. We spend a lot of time surrounded by stacks of paper and the smell of ink which you get used to after a few days. The office is usually a bit messy with proofs and manuscripts lying around on every flat surface. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just people dropping off things or picking up finished bundles. Phulewadi is a settled kind of place and we’ve been at this address long enough that the postman doesn't even have to look at the number anymore. The walls are painted a pale color that’s peeling a bit near the ceiling but it doesn't bother us. We focus on getting the words onto the pages and making sure the binding holds together. It’s a slow process sometimes and involves a lot of sitting and checking for mistakes. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just the standard machines that have worked for us for years. In the winter it gets a bit chilly in the front room so we keep a small heater by the main desk. It’s just us doing the work that needs doing without trying to be anything we aren't. We like the rhythm of the presses and the way the shop feels on a quiet afternoon.
