Varanasi Hospital & Medical Research Centre

We are located at B-50 Jawahar Nagar Extension, right in the Gurudham Colony area. It’s a bit of a long name for a place, but most people just call us the hospital in Gurudham. The building is pretty big because we do research stuff here too, not just seeing patients. I spend most of my time in the front office area. The colony is a nice place to work, though it gets a bit congested during the morning hours when everyone is heading to work. We have different sections for different things. One side is more for the research work and the other side is where the patients wait. It can get a bit confusing for new people, so we spend a lot of time pointing them in the right direction. The air conditioning in the main lobby is a bit temperamental; some days it’s freezing and other days it barely feels like it's on. We’ve had a guy come out to look at it twice, but it still has a mind of its own. We have a lot of regular staff who have been here for years, so it feels a bit like a small community inside the building. We just go about our business, filing paperwork and helping the doctors. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for the colony. We try to keep things organized despite the constant flow of people and papers. I usually stay a few minutes late to sort the mail.
