Urmila Spancar Foundation

Our place is Urmila Spancar Foundation and you can find us care of Ashok Kumar Srivastava in Village Koraut. We are out here in the Varanasi district, with the pin code 221107. Being in a village means things move a bit slower than in the city center. The air is a bit clearer though. Our office is basically part of a house. It is not some high-rise building with an elevator. You just walk in and we are there. Urmila Spancar Foundation started with just a few ideas and a small space to work in. We have some wooden benches for visitors and a couple of old fans that keep the air moving. Ashok Kumar Srivastava helps keep things running smoothly. We are surrounded by fields and other houses. It’s a very local atmosphere. Most of our neighbors are farmers or shopkeepers. We don’t have a website that looks professional or anything like that. We just have our physical office in Koraut. If someone needs to find us, they usually just ask around the village. It’s hard to stay hidden in a place like this. We do our best with what we have. Every morning starts with sweeping the floor and getting the records out. We are just a small part of the Uttar Pradesh landscape. It is quiet work but it keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
