Hydle Road is always moving, and we are right there in Bikharipur. Umaprem Netralay Eye Hospital & Research Centre sits right across from APEX Hospital, so it’s easy for people to find us even if they aren't from this specific part of town. We focus on eyes here, nothing else. There are always people coming in because they can't see the TV clearly or they need new glasses. It gets pretty crowded in the mornings. We have the research side of things too, which keeps us busy with papers and data, but mostly it's about the patients walking in. Bikharipur is a busy spot. You can hear the horns from Hydle Road all day. The building is simple and functional. We have the equipment we need and some benches for people to wait on. Sometimes the tea man from down the street brings us cups in the afternoon. It’s a bit of a routine for the staff. We see young kids and older grandparents. Everyone has a story about their sight or how it’s changing. It’s a lot of work, keeping track of everything, but we manage. The staff knows most of the regulars by name now. It’s not a corporate office, just a place where we look at eyes and try to help folks get through their day a bit better. We've been here on Hydle Road for a good bit of time now.
