Ugratara Exports

Our business, Ugratara Exports, is based in Varanasi. We are situated at Nepali Kothi, right near Assi Ghat. If you have ever been to Assi Ghat, you know it has a very specific feel to it. It’s a place with a lot of history and people coming and going. We work out of the Kothi and handle the export side of things. It’s not a very formal environment here. We mostly just focus on getting things packaged and sent out where they need to go. Varanasi is a place where things move at their own pace, and we kind of follow that too. We aren't some big corporation with hundreds of employees. It's a smaller operation and we like it that way. Being at Nepali Kothi gives us a good base to work from. There are always sights and sounds from the ghats nearby that remind us where we are. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just do the work. The building itself has its own character, and so does the work we do inside it. We spend a lot of time on the logistics, making sure everything is moving right. It's a lot of practical, everyday tasks that keep us busy from morning until we close up for the day. It’s hard work, but being by the river makes it better.
