Sunsure Microcare Foundation

You can find us in Shivrampur, over in Varanasi. We are care of Nanhku Maurya, and our pin code is 221202. Sunsure Microcare Foundation is the name we’ve got. We aren't near the main ghats where all the tourists go, but we like our little corner of the city. It’s more of a residential area, so we know our neighbors and they know us. The office is really just a simple room with some old wooden chairs and a lot of files. Nanhku has lived here for years, so he’s the one who keeps everything running. We don't have a big budget for advertising or anything like that. We mostly just rely on people talking to each other. We deal with microcare, which is just a way of saying we look at the small problems that bigger groups might ignore. It’s not glamorous work, and we don't wear suits or anything. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work every morning. Sometimes the power goes out for a few hours, so we sit outside and talk to people passing by. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have a grand vision, just a desire to be useful in our own neighborhood. Varanasi is a place where things change slowly, and we are fine with that. We just keep doing our bit every day while we drink our morning tea.
