Sri Balaji Emporium

Out here in Koirajpur, things move a little slower than they do in the main city. We are set up near the Harahua post office area. The emporium is basically a place where we keep a bit of everything on the shelves. It is not organized like those big department stores you see in movies. We have got stuff piled up in corners and on high shelves that we sometimes need a stool to reach. If you are looking for something specific, you might have to ask me where I put it last Tuesday. I spend most of my day sitting near the entrance greeting folks who live nearby. We know most of the families who come in because they have been living in the village as long as we have. The building itself is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint if I ever find the time to do it. During the rainy season, the road out front gets a bit muddy which slows things down even more. We keep a small radio playing in the background just to have some noise. It is mostly just about keeping the stock replenished and making sure we don't run out of the basics. It is a quiet life running a shop in Harahua and we don't expect it to change much anytime soon.
