Sitara Ladies Parlour

You can find Sitara Ladies Parlour in Shastri Nagar, right across from the IP Mall in Varanasi. It is funny because the mall is so big and modern, and our place is just a small local shop. We see the big crowds going into the mall every weekend while we are busy with our own customers. The shop has a big mirror and some shelves where we keep the threads and creams. We started this place because there weren't many options for women in this part of Shastri Nagar back then. Now there are more, but our regulars still come to us. We handle everything like hair cuts and basic skin care. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use hand fans while we finish up. That is just how it is in Varanasi sometimes. We try to keep the place looking nice with some flowers or small decorations. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we are always sweeping it up. It is a loud neighborhood with the mall traffic, but inside we just focus on the work. We drink a lot of tea during the day to keep going. It is a good little spot and we are happy to be part of the community here near the mall. We aren't trying to be like the mall, just a simple place for women to get ready. The street outside is always busy but inside we keep it steady.
